The significance of the symbols on the guitar:
The Southern Cross is a permanent constellation only visible in the southern hemisphere. It is symbolic to New Zealand's location on the globe.
The Koru design is inspired by the New Zealand silver fern frond unfurling as it grows. It symbolizes new beginnings and harmony.
The Silver Fern is a powerful and emotional symbol of inspiration and representative of New Zealand and New Zealanders.
The Toki design symbolizes strength, courage and determination.
Purpleheart as tonewood:
Purpleheart has excellent tonal qualities. Its hardness gives it a bright tone, but slightly warmer than maple. Purpleheart is extremely hard and does not dent easily. It is brown when freshly cut, but oxidizes to a violet purple within days and darkening into a deeper purple with age.
